Disco divas!!

I thought I would treat the children to a disco on the final night instead of yet another walk!!

Lots of hyper children and rather crazy dancing!!

Good Morning Churchill!!

I can't believe the children this morning, it's the complete opposite to yesterday morning when all the children were up and dressed by 7am.  The time is now 8am and there is no movement and no sound coming from any of the rooms.  I guess I will have to wake them soon!! It's just a shame I didn't pack my water pistol!!

The weather is not great this morning but I'm hopeful the rain will clear by 10am.  The children have yet another full day of activities, 2 in the smaller groups and the last activity of the day we all head off into the woods and streams for the woodland scramble.

Here's to another day of fun.

Lots of tired children!

After our first full day of activities the children are well and truly done in! Lots of children faced their fears today when they took part in activities at the tower. Children conquered the high ropes, zip wire and climbing wall and because they were fearless they all managed multiple goes on each activity.

To end the day we took a ball down to the beach and played games before finishing off the day with a bedtime story and hot chocolate and biscuit.

Each group leader once again nominated children for their team work and for those who persevered and faced their fears.
Team players today were: Lily-Em, Joachim, Patrick and Flora and the children who really persevered and overcame their fears were: Jamie, Lewis and Sam. Well done to them and to all the children for such an enjoyable day.

And I can confirm that all children are in bed and are all asleep!! 😀😀

Morning dip in the sea

A great time has been had down at the beach with lots of fun and games in the sea. The children all took part in warm up games which involved lots of silly dares and lots of head dunking.
The children then played with the kayaks before returning to the centre for a nice warm shower. That's 2 showers in as many days now!!

Lunch is now being served so goodbye for now!

Fun on the beach

Good morning Morfa

The children were awake very early this morning and are looking forward to our first full day of activities. The weather is perfect and the views are simply stunning!!
This morning the whole group are heading down to the beach to, hopefully, catch some waves in the sea. But first the interesting task of getting the wetsuits on!!
After the lunch we will seperate into smaller groups and will be out orienteering and tackling the tower.

More pictures to follow.

The dreaded hike!!

The children were sent out with a member of staff, as well as the teachers, from the centre for a trek down to the beach.  We all burnt off lots of energy and sugar playing games on the beach, digging holes and searching rock pools for sea creatures. We then walked back up the hill, which was a struggle for some, back to the centre where we changed into our pjs and settled down with a hot chocolate, biscuit and bedtime story.  We finished off the evening by reflecting on the day with teachers nominating children who faced their fears and persevered when things got tough and for the team player of the group who kept everyone going.
Well done to the team players: Alfie, Michael, Rufus and Jacob. And the ones who faced their fears: Maisie, Tammy, Poppy and Summer.

I must say I am very impressed with the whole group and the way they have conducted themselves. They have been a credit to you all as well as the school and they've done all this with smiles on their faces!!

We are off!!

Thank you very much for all your kind cake and biscuit donations your generosity has pleased the teachers!! 😀😀

We are not even in Congresbury and the children are buzzing; I know they are all going to have an amazing time away and return with fantastic memories that will last a life time. Thank you for all your support in making this new Churchill adventure possible.

Day 1

We all arrived safely and have enjoyed our first activity on the muddy assault course. All the children were fantastic: being very supportive of each other and persevering when things got a little tricky! When u have a moment I will see if I can put some video footage up of the children taking part.

For tea tonight the children have just worked their magic on fish fingers, potato waffles and beans. I say worked their magic as ALL plates were empty!!

The children are now writing their postcards before embarking on the evening hike.
